Chief Michaela Woods is our A Shift Battalion Chief.  BC Woods was born and raised right here in Douglas County where she started her fire service career with Douglas County Fire District No. 2 as a Resident Student / Volunteer in 2014.  She has spent the last 10 years working in varying capacities in the Willamette Valley area, most recently as a Company Officer with Sheridan Fire District.  Woods has an Associate’s degree in Emergency Medical Services through Umpqua Community college and has been a licensed Paramedic for 8 years.  She has experiencing working both in the field for transporting fire departments, private ambulance and in clinic at Mercy Medical Center in the Emergency Department as well as local urgent care.  Michaela comes from a large family of 7 brothers and 3 sisters, and enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors.
